The Portlands Energy Centre (PEC) is capable of generating 550 megawatts of electric power from its two state of the art natural gas fired generators and one steam generator - enough electricity to power approximately 500,000 homes.

PEC first generated electricity in the spring of 2008 and is located in the eastern industrial section of the Port Lands area of Toronto.
